Tungsten copperrod is an alloy of tungsten, copper, and other elements. The common alloys contain between 10 and 50 percent copper. Powder metallurgy is used to prepare the alloy. The alloy has good thermal and electrical conductivity, high temperatures resistance and some plasticity. Copper in an alloy is liquidified and evaporated at high temperatures such as 3000 °C. The copper absorbs heat which reduces its surface temperature. This material is sometimes called metal sweating.

A composite material made from tungsten and copper, it is produced by high temperature sintering, static pressing and copper infiltration. This process makes good use of both the metal properties and plasticity of high purity tungsten and high-purity copper. Good arc breaking, electrical and thermal conductivity. Low thermal expansion. High strength.

Tungsten and copper alloy have many uses. They are used to produce contacts for high voltage electrical switches. These switches can resist arc ablation.

Resistance welding electrodes
The resistance welding electrode (select-tungsten copper WD10080): This electrode combines the best of tungsten with copper. It is easy to cut and features high electrical conductivity and temperature resistance. Because of its hardness and melting point, and the anti-adhesion qualities, tungsten is frequently used in projection welding.

Spark electrode
You can choose from tungsten copper or WD10075 for your EDM electrode. When the mold is made out of high-temperature superhard alloy tungsten, it is more difficult to lose ordinary electrodes and speeds up the process.
High Voltage Discharge Tube Electrodes
Select WD10070 high-voltage discharge electrode: The temperature of the contact materials will rise by several thousand degrees Celsius when the high-voltage vacuum discharge tube is in operation. This happens within just a few seconds. The thermal conductivity ensures that the discharge tube can operate safely.
